All Youth Hoopz basketball games will be governed by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) basketball rules, except as noted below: 

 

Below are the 3/4th & 5/6th Grade rules for the 2023/24 season!

YouthHoopz Rules for January/February games

 

(3rd/4th Grade Boys/Girls)

  • 3rd Grade Only, Rims at 9ft (if possible), w 13ft free throw line
  • 6 Minute Qtrs – Regulation Clock
  • 2 timeouts per half, not cumulative
  • New 5 foul / bonus rule
  • No Players foul out
  • Overtime period will be one minute 
  • 2+ OT. Sudden Death – First Point wins. All common fouls are 1 shot
  • Defense may include zone traps, man to man pressing
  • No pressing after 15 point lead

(5th/6th Grade Boys/Girls)

  • OHSAA Rules
  • Exceptions:
    • Defense may include zone traps, man to man pressing
    • No pressing after 15 point lead
    • 2 timeouts per half, not cumulative
    • Overtime period will be one minute, 2+ OT. Sudden Death – First Point wins. All common fouls are 1 shot
